Directions for DIY Two Tiered Raised Garden Bed

**This is an adult build**

**Wash Hand Thoroughly When Done**

**Do not use treated wood for your garden, it isn’t recommended to eat produce grown in treated wood**

  1. Clear sunny area of the yard of all grass and weeds (roughly 4 ft x 5 ft). Level the ground for the raised bed (We didn’t do this and wish that we had). Place weed cover or desired weed barrier to prepare the area for your raised bed. DIY Two Tiered Raised Garden Bed (1)
  2. Starting from the back of the garden place one paver in each corner with one of the 42 inch x 6 inch x 2 inch pine boards in-between them. To make the sides place one of 24 inch x 6 inch x 2 inch pine board (per side) between the existing corner and the middle paver. Repeat by using one of 24 inch x 6 inch x 2 inch pine boards (per side) between the middle paver and front corner. To complete the box put a 42 inch x 6 inch x 2 inch pine board in-between the two front corners.DIY Two Tiered Raised Garden Bed (11)
  3. Repeat setting up the pavers one layer at a time, with finished layers being: back two corners 3 pavers high, middle 3 pavers high, front corners 2 pavers high. Optional but recommended for safety: Use stakes to hold pavers in place and sand any rough edges with sandpaper. (We were playing with bench seating ideas with the extra board laying on the front and back wall). 4. Fill with garden soil so the middle of the garden is filled two pavers high. Place the final 42 inch x 6 inch x 2 inch pine board across the middle of the garden to create the raised tier. Continue filling the garden with garden soil to desired height.

Plant vegetables of your choice either as seeds or seedlings from your local garden center.

**Optional: added seating to the top of your raised bed by attaching pine board around the edge. (We plan to add seating around the bottom tier as well.) We also ended up placing plastic netting/fencing across the soil in our garden to help keep the neighborhood cats out of the garden.**
